David Wallace was delighted with how he felt in his return from a long term injury in Munster's shock defeat to Aironi on Sunday.
Wallace has been sidelined since he suffered a serious knee injury in Ireland's World Cup warm-up loss to England in August but after six months out he made a welcome return in an otherwise disappointing outing for Munster in Italy.
The 72-times capped Irish international entered the action the second half and while his introduction sparked Munster into life it was not enough as they went down 21-17.The result may not have been ideal but Wallace was more than happy to get back playing for the Reds and he was surprised by how well he coped on his return.
"I was delighted to get 25 minutes under my belt," he is quoted as saying in the Irish Examiner."I really had no inkling as to what way it would go, but I felt comfortable out there, more comfortable than I thought I would feel."Looking forward, I have no lofty goals for myself because I don’t want to be disappointed."It’s going to take a lot of time and a lot of rugby, and obviously a lot of patience before I get back to where I was."But today was the first step, hopefully of many." - http://www.setanta.com
