Djokovic endured a gruelling 2 hours
and 14 minutes to beat Federer in two sets 7-6 (8-6) 7-5. The ATP titleholder
cited his rival’s sharp offensive technique in maintaining defence as his
strongest point.
While Djokovic said that he found it
difficult to win w1th ease over Federer, he noted that he tried his best to
launch counterattacks against his contender for the no. 1 world ranking. The
Serbian will end the season at no. 1 with both the Australian Open and ATP
World Tour titles.
