With the first half ending in a
stalemate, none of the sides emerged to win w1th ease. The tiebreaker came in when Anthony
Pilkington headed a commanding effort on the 60th minute. Norwich keeper John
Ruddy effectively kept United from scoring.
Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes’
unsuccessful efforts indicated United’s lack of deep playing style during the
game. Danny Welbeck proved to be the Canaries’ biggest threat, but Ruddy
reacted through impressive clearances.
