Gavin Henson has been sacked with immediate effect by Cardiff Blues following his drunken behaviour on a flight from Glasgow at the weekend.
After going out drinking following Cardiff's RaboDirect PRO12 defeat at Glasgow Warriors, Henson then turned up for a 7am flight back to Wales still drinking. Some of Henson's behaviour on the Flybe flight then drew complaints for being unacceptable and theWelshman issued an apology on Sunday accepting he was out of order. Blues management wasted no time in calling a management meeting for Monday and, despite Henson's apology, opted to dismiss him with immediate effect. Blues CEO Richard Holland says the management team were keen to send a message out that behaviour such as Henson's would not be accepted.
