O'Driscoll ready for action

It may be too late for Ireland but Leinster have been boosted by the news that Brian O'Driscoll is ready to make his return from injury.

O'Driscoll's season looked to be over when he announced in October that he would undergo surgery on a longstanding shoulder injury but he stated his intention to return in early April.

However, a quicker than expected recovery means the centre will be fit to take to the field for Leinster in Friday's RaboDirect PRO12 clash against the Ospreys. The 33-year-old Ireland captain returned to full contact training last week and after taking full part in Monday's session he has been included in the squad to face the Welsh region at the RDS.

"His reputation precedes him as a fast healer and this is the very earliest we thought we'd have him back," Leinster coach Joe Schmidt said."Things have gone really well in his rehabilitation and he got the all-clear from the medical staff last week."It's not guaranteed but if he was to be in contention for some of the big games coming up, he'd want to get a bit of time under his belt on Friday." - http://www.setanta.com
