Wane in upbeat mood

Carmont out for four weeks with broken thumb

Wigan coach Shaun Wane intends to keep faith with the majority of the players who featured against Huddersfield for the Rhinos' visit to the DW Stadium on Saturday. The Warriors were beaten 20-16 by the Giants, also at home, in Wane's first competitive match in charge since succeeding Michael Maguire. But Wane said: "I am quite happy. Obviously Liam Farrell is suspended, so there will be one change there, but apart from that, no."I know we can perform better than we did last weekend. We weren't at our best but we still only lost by four points and scored three tries to three. It is not so bad." Wane expects Farrell to learn from his one-match ban for a dangerous tackle. The 21-year-old back-rower must sit out this weekend's clash with the champions after he submitted an early guilty plea after being charged by the Rugby Football League following a tackle on Leroy Cudjoe during Sunday's loss to Huddersfield. Wane said: "I think it is more clumsy than anything else, there is definitely no malice there. He is not that sort of player. - http://www1.skysports.com/
