Ear trouble for King

Ospreys flanker James King is to undergo plastic surgery following a freak incident during the RaboDirect PRO12 clash against Cardiff Blues.

King's ear was left hanging off when he collided with Blues back-row forward Xavier Rush in the sixth minute of the 17-12 victory at the Liberty Stadium.

He was taken straight to hospital in Swansea where doctors determined that he suffered a severe laceration to the ear and he is to undergo plastic surgery to repair the damage.

"He more or less ripped an ear off in a tackle," said Ospreys forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys.

"He collided with Rushie and it's quite a nasty one."

It is unclear how long the 21-year-old will be out of action for with Ospreys unwilling to discuss his recovery period until after the operation. - http://www.setanta.com/
