Australia is at the Second in the IRB World Rankings.They have not conceded a try in each of their previous three RWC matches. Only one team has ever recorded a longer run of RWC matches without conceding a try. Between 1999 and 2003, South Africa did not concede a try in six consecutive RWC matches. England are also on a streak of three, have kept the opposition from scoring in 15 separate RWC matches, more than any team in the competition. Australia have won 29 RWC matches and can become the second team to reach 30 victories. New Zealand lead that department with 32 World Cup matches won, their latest victory being the one against Tonga.
Ireland is at the Eighth in the IRB World Rankings.They have never beaten at World Cups one of the opponents that make up the Tri Nations, losing all five against them. That includes all four defeats against Australia and one against New Zealand in 1995.They also have the oldest squad at the 2011 Rugby World Cup at an average of 28 years and 352 days. Australia have the youngest squad at 26 years and 5 days on average this Saturday.Ireland have started a World Cup campaign with two successive victories on three previous occasions – in 1991, 2003 and 2007.
