Rugby news 12BET update 12/19

McGahan looking to develop

Munster coach Tony McGahan says his side have a lot of work to do following their 19-13 victory over the Scarlets.

The 2006 and 2008 Heineken Cup champions secured their fourth successive win in the competition with a gutsy display against the Welsh region to take them clear at the top of Pool 1.

Once again, they had to rely on the boot of Ronan O'Gara, who has been their hero in this year's tournament, and the Australian coach believes his team need to develop a more complete game if they're to be successful.

"We want to be growing in this competition and taking the game forward each week, especially the way we fought so hard in the previous three rounds," he said.

"Coming here today, we were expecting a more complete performance. The players are disappointed with the performance.

"We really came here to improve what we have been trying to do. While we got through, we recognise we have a hell of a lot of work to do."
